Please see H1 english v4 manual page 65th "Temperature: The temperature of the air. Your body temperature affects the temperature sensor. Your device must be connected to a tempe™ sensor for this data to appear."

The Tempe sensor works with the H1, but the temperature data is not stored in the recorded activity.

Garmin Support answer:
Where the 66SR may have done this automatically, the GPSMAP H1 requires you to set up a data field for temperature for the activity profile once your Tempe sensor has been connected.
I made it, but no temperature in the FIT file

I think you will discover over time that most Garmin support staff have very little knowledge about the products they are supposed to be helping with.
I suspect the FIT file Tempe data issue will be resolved soon.
