Despite that you asked if you should buy 67 or 67i, I would ask myself, if you really need the inreach function and if yes, why? If you plan to have it for real emergency, then I would buy a dedicated inreach device, because on this device your life will maybe depend and you don't have to think constant if the remaining battery will be enough for the inreach function, even if you should have a powerbank and so on with you.

I agree. Dedicated inReach device for safety, other GPSr for desired activity.

And that's I think is an answer for my question... two is one, one is none... I am really into climbing and mountaineering, but for now even in far Norway I had gsm signal... regarding gps I am using anyway Fenix 7, but second gps is a must... And a telephone still stands for telephone...

I am a bit greedy :) so I wanted to save some money and to have 2 in 1... but I think you are really right. Thank you a lot guys!

From technical point of view, why Garmin put IRSS (iridium) and was not able to put GLONASS also?

If you mean the maps you write about in the next post, i.e. jnx and kmz, I want to point out that Gpsmap 60csx does not support maps in kmz files, as well as in jnx files.

Garmin's software did not support custom maps in jnx files as standard on all Garmin devices, including GPSmap 66sr.

But with my system my 66sr (the 67 will not be able to because it is restricted) supports all my JNX that I have created, as well as my old Etrex 35 and Gpsmap66s.....
My old Edge 705 supports the Garmin Topo V6 map that I downloaded from the Internet, of course it does not display all the colors since its color base is weak, but it is enough to have the roads and paths up to date.
I visualize on Windows my JNX with the small software "Jnxer".
I'll stop there since it has nothing to do with 67.

GLONASS and Iridium have a smiliar frequency, therefore it is really difficult (or impossible at this moment) to have both on the same device.

I don't know why Iridium decided to use a similiar frequency, because GLONASS was way before that and they could foresee the upcoming issues.

Have you tried to record a track by configuring the recording of points per second? Personally I put 3 seconds between each stitch to avoid hairpin turns and straight lines. Disadvantages when you stop the GPS continues to record points.

Thak you very much for explenation!

Ok, so last question to you guys, do you think that we can achieve the same battery life time for 67 and 67i and switch off completely InReach functions in the background ? Because official information are not very precise... did someone perform such test ?

As far as I see 67 and 67i have both the same battery life time in GPS mode, that is stated on garmin website itself. In the table below on their website, they call it default mode in 67, but they meant gps mode. If you look up a bit above the table, they say 180h in gps mode for 67 and also 180h in gps mode for 67i, but if you let inreach function on with 10min tracking, then you will get 165h.

The same goes for expedition mode.

The problem I don't know how to present the internet addresses or the images, how to integrate them into the Spoiler...For the images I integrate them with Attachment...as you explained to me. Where can I find the manual please.
