Where did you find the 67 firmware page I can't find it anywhere? I want to update it from 4.70 as it won't go to 6feet accuracy on 4.70Domi93CH wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 12:18 pm no, he has express ban
but I just download 4.80 from the firmware page on GPSrchive and upload the file to the device. then this version will be installed.

Re: Total Ascent Values Exaggerated by 50% [Bug 29]
Managed to find it on a previous post on the forum that someone had linked, I have uptdates my new device to 4.80, as 4.70 it won't go bellow 10 feet accuracy. I had to plug it into Express for the CPE file update as the device was showing it as missing. I am trying 4.80 as I never got to try this firmware I was straight onto 5.30 when I got my device last year.
If anyone does plug into Express and doesn't want the 6.60 update it will automatically download it to your device, just go into the Garmin Folder on the device and delete the GUPDATE file and then it will stop it asking if you want to install new software each time you turn the device on. Just repeat if you ever plug it into express again and still don't want it.

Nice one, thanks, gonna keep it on 4.80 everything seems to work fine, going to test it on the same walk as I did on 6.60 see if there's any better difference.
Also deleted the memory hungry Garmin topo maps off that I never use. Literally fill most of the memory of the device for the UK and EU map.

I've noticed the satellite page bug on mine with 4.80 on where it repeats the same number for different satellites.Though if it works alright for everything else when I test it, I can live with that..Domi93CH wrote: Fri Jan 26, 2024 2:51 pmHere you can see all FW-VersionsIMG_6388.jpegRickN55 wrote: Fri Jan 26, 2024 1:49 pmWhere did you find the 67 firmware page I can't find it anywhere? Re: Total Ascent Values Exaggerated by 50% [Bug 29]
Well did a walk today on 4.80 with the new device and it made absolutely zero difference than my last device on 6.60 on the same walk.
The 67 recorded 705ft Ascent and 705 ft descent
Epix recorded 148ft Ascent and 133 descent both of which seem realistic with the walk conditions
62s recorded 172ft ascent and 144 descent
As shows the 67 is well out, I know not every GPS is ever going to be 100% accurate and give the exact same numbers each time even on the same route but for the 67 to be that far out every time just shows how bad it is and it's nothing to do with the 6.60 firmware it's just the device is garbage which I am probably going to put up for sale, it's just to buggy, I regret not getting the 66sr was much better, my friend has one and when we're on a walk his reads on terms with my epix at the same time.

When calibrating the altimeter, did you set it all at once or continuously?
When running continuously I sometimes have a difference of up to 50m compared to the morning when I started at the same place.

Re: Total Ascent Values Exaggerated by 50% [Bug 29]
It was on Continuous. I've tried all the different settings on my last device on 6.60 and all were the same..
I even calibrate the altimeter to the correct height before starting. Which I never normally do on other devices but always do with this to make sure that ain't causing any issues. But dunno what's up with it. I'm wondering if it's the hardware issue rather than software..
If so the 67 is an expensive piece of garbage..

Re: Total Ascent Values Exaggerated by 50% [Bug 29]
I asked Garmin whether they had installed a more sensitive pressure sensor on the 67. Because while skiing I have a little more than the height differences of the cable cars, I suspect that the 67 is sensitive enough to also measure the descents/ascents and small dips on the ski slopes. You do more descent when you go down and up again. He's currently on the train ride with me to see what kind of values he's giving me. According to Garmin, at 6.60 I was at sea level even though I was about 450m above sea level at the lowest point on the route. Otherwise, I didn't notice any noticeable deviations with the 4.80. I'll have to take the 65s with me next time I'm on the slopes.

Re: Total Ascent Values Exaggerated by 50% [Bug 29]
I haven't found any issue with the elevation at any given point I find the 67 is the most accurate device I've had, it's just it's ascent and descent on a route that seems proper messed up. The walk I did today no way is there 700ft of climbing you'd notice it, it's msotly flat and the fact two other devices sing off the same realistic hymm sheet shows how bad this issue is with the 67, I'm very underwhelmed with it for what is cost and meant to be the best handheld currently out there.
