As we all know, different things do not work on the 66st. And it seems, Garmin does not care about.
For me as an example I can not accept, that "Live Geocaching" does not support to load the additional waypoints or the device looses/deletes files (in my case an OSM-Map during trail.)
One solution that could solve many problems is the idea of an simple file-transfer app over Bluetooth or WLAN for the smartphone/tablet. File transfer, delete file and rename file would be enough to "repair" a device on the way or add missing files.
What do you think about that idea?
I already tried to connect my GPS using an USB-Adapter to the iPad, what not worked because the power consumption is to high.

Re: Idea: File-Transfer App
Easy in theory. I’ve done five Apps for Apple’s App Store,
and can almost guarantee nobody will ever write an App that links an iPhone or iPad directly to a Garmin GPS.
File exchange over email maybe (I’ve done that), but not over USB.
