I discovered this fault only occurs when you are switching to a profile where the routing method has been selected to "Prompted". If it has been set to "minimize time/distance" etc, all is good.

Does this agree with your findings?

Also, what maps have you got loaded ? Garmin ones ?

I can confirm this! If I select minimize time/distance by default, the routing method changes correctly when switching between profiles. Thanks for sharing your observation!

I use the Garmin Top maps NE / SW Europe, as installed by default on the st version of the GPSMAP66. I also have OSM maps installed of Belgium / Netherlands / Germany (from http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/) on the SD-card. As far as I can see, the routing problem is not dependent on the maps used.
