Do you know something we don't?
No unfortunately not, just personal opinions and speculation

An AMOLED screen would be welcome

That is very unlikely to happen.
Garmin LCD displays require zero backlight when used under direct sunlight, and most work so well at reflecting ambient light that the backlight makes little to no difference other than running the battery down faster.
All AMOLED displays require constant power (similar to the LCD backlight) to illuminate each and every single pixel, and they are difficult to view when not indoors or in a shaded area.
AMOLED displays cannot compete with LCD displays in outdoor visibility, where these devices are primarily used.

Just a quick reminder for those pondering a new model to replace the GPSMAP 67 in 2024:
- The GPSMAP 60 series was announced in November 2003.
- The GPSMAP 62 series was announced in June 2010, 7 years after the 60 series, which it replaced.
- The GPSMAP 64 series was announced in January 2014, 4 years after the 62 series, which it replaced.
- The GPSMAP 65 series was announced in September 2020, 6 years after the 64, which it replaced.
- The GPSMAP 66 series was announced in September 2018, 4 years after the 64 series, which it did not replace.
- The GPSMAP 67 series was announced in March 2023, 5 years after the 66, which it replaced.
There is no history to support the idea of the GPSMAP 67 being 'replaced' any time soon.

They'll probably just release an enhanced version of the 67 like a 67s or something that has solar screen charging or picks up more satellites or something.
The 65s they've gave up with according to the engineer I've been talking to with Garmin, the 65s will receive no further firmware updates. Tbf the 65s works spot on no issues at all.

Only so long as we are ignoring the known issues listed at

You seem to cream your keks constantly posting these links don't you,
Anyway back to your comment, none of these issue I have noticed on Firmware 4.50 and most of which seem to be wireless sharing which lets be honest I have no intention of using and you know the 65s is old tech when it comes to wireless sharing and isn't going to be the best, so if you're into all that the 66/67 series is the one to go for and even they're still sh1te!
