Sorry, I obviously misunderstood. When you wrote "That's true!" what were you referring to exactly? Which aspects of the TwoNav can be managed offline?

Also, you wrote that "use of OSM maps is limited in TwoNav" - is that because it doesn't support vector maps, only raster?

I have no objection in principle to raster mapping, so long as I can find free custom maps that I can load on. They'll take up more space, I imagine, so any device would either have to have a lot of built-in storage or have an SD card slot.

Namely: e.g. copying files via the File Manager, Land, Garmin Basecamp (the TwoNav unit is visible as an external disc).

No, both are supported - they are called: VMAP (vector) and RMAP (raster), though it RMAP is more suitable. In contrary, the Garmin is more vector-centric, whereas the Birdseye or Custom KMZ raster use is limited.

No, the RMAP (raster) format is compressed.

BTW, for more details, I recommend to see TwoNav Land tutorials in the Internet and the home website.
