I was curious and plugged my 66st into my PC. I opened Garmin Express and synced my device. After disconnecting, I turned on my 66st and a pop-up indicated there was new software to install. I installed it and now have version 10.20. But still no POI's. Otherwise, it appears to function normally.

That's good news!
Sounds like Garmin uploaded the wrong firmware file to their servers last week and have it corrected now!

It seems that whilst Garmin have fixed the uploading of “ workable 10.20” for now
If the POI’s are still not showing , then the problem remains
Don’t go there
Bring on another version to fix it, please
V10.30 ? as previously suggested?

Check your device map settings, our GPSMAP 66s is now showing POI again with 10.20 installed.

Yes, they're back. I zoomed in a bit more and they appeared. Yippee!

Also now 10.20 on my Device, not much Time to test ist - seems to work ok !

After owning the 66ST seems it came out a couple of years ago. GPSrChive saved me from a lot of potential frustration. By not breaking my own rule “Never…Never…EVER install something from Garmin without checking the GPSrChive first”
The amount of time I have installed buggy software in this device is mind boggling!
