Well I ended up getting an OS Great Britain V2 topo card for my 67 so now running Talky Toaster and OS on the device. I like having OS as it's far more accurate than the OSM mapping on Talky maps. I'm forever logging onto OSM and adjusting stuff that's well off on Talky.

I have been able to use both ExpertGPS and Topofusion software to install scaleable USGS 7.5 maps and other digital maps on my GPSMAP 67 using the custom maps feature and instructions.

On the 67 work the IMG maps that I make with the Jnx2img application from a JNX map
mimichris please ask me on two question:
1. On which screen scale you can see the replacement a vector layer with a raster layer from jnx?
2. Do you have this scale as permanent without reference to advanced settings for high or low map detail.
I have my maps that was made with Jnx2img. It work fine on older device. The JNX raster appeared at 300 meters. But on GPSMAP 67 the raster layer appears on 1.2 km when it is not readable. The high or low map detail in setting do not change scale when a raster layer appears.

I have not checked this with raster maps in img files, but I think that by changing the TRE parameter you can adjust (change) the display of the map image in ready files.
The TRE parameter is responsible for the way maps are displayed.
The structure of the TRE parameter is not described and is little known, changes can be made by trial and error to achieve the desired effect.

It is probably easier to adjust the scale using JNX Customizer v 1.0.28 before converting the JNX to IMG. Just change the Level 1 scale from 1.2 km to 300m, save and convert.
Let us know if that works for you.
