GPSMAP H1/H1i Plus Firmware 12.06

Many of my Garmin devices require a hard reset after each firmware update to make everything work as intended.

I ended up wiping out (hard reset) the eTrex Touch 2 and force updated FW v12.06 back to it. I also wiped out the Explore App as well as the Garmin Connect app from my syncing iPad mini 6 (I only use this one mobile device for the task).

I’ve had several occasions where I had to reinstall the Explore app (on iOS) to solve some unexplained issue. For example sync always failing with an error, app not responding when recording an activity, app not being able to pair with device.

Factory reset of the GPSMAP itself luckily only once or twice, mostly when the H1 was just released.

Could it be that 12.06 has been pulled by Garmin? The post with release notes on the Garmin GPSMAP H1i Plus forum has been removed. And Garmin Express on one of my computers on which I didn't sync my H1 for some time doesn't offer the update. It usually does a day or so after an update has been released. GPSMAP H1 Series Firmware Update Release Notes lists 11.07 as the latest version, but that is not really an indication because that page has always lagged behind..

I just noticed this at the Garmin H1 forum, posted over there and then came here to post my findings but you beat me to it.

It appears it has been pulled. The official Garmin H1 firmware update page had in fact been updated a day or so after v12.06 was released to reflect v12.06's release. The page has since been reverted back to v11.07 as we have now seen.

GPSrChive's post earlier (not sure if this thread or the eTrex Touch 2 thread) about how we likely wouldn't have to wait very long seems to be valid.

And we didn't have to wait very long. v12.08 has been released (at least for the eTrex Touch 2) and apparently for the H1 series. I can't verify the H1 series release through official Garmin sources (other than a couple of users at the Garmin H1 forum posting that it has been) or personally on my end so I'll let others here start a new topic for it.

That being said, v12.08 for the Touch 2 is verified at fixing the Apps List overflow bug caused by an Activity change. Anything else remains to be seen.
