In which order are CustomSymbols imported?

Does anybody know, in which order the CustomSymbols are imported? I am using several custom symbols and they seem to show up in a pretty chaotic order. Even, when I on purpose install more than 56 symbols, it's not 0-55, but some are from >55 shown and some from <55 missing, since it hits the limit.

I have asked a similar question regarding other files on the device and the answer I always get is 'In No Particular Order'.
I know that doesn't help much.
If you load more than 56 Custom Symbols to the device, not all will be available, and you can not control which will be indexed aside from placing unused or overflow symbols in a separate directory for future use. I have a 'SWAP' folder on my devices for just this purpose. Does not work for *.jpg images however.
