'External Power On > Charge Battery' does not work as expected

If I choose Setup -> System -> Advanced Setup -> External Power On and set this option to "Charge Battery", it seems to do the same, as the setting "Turn On". This seems to be wrong, as IMHO "Charge Battery" should not power the whole unit into main menu, but only show the charing battery screen. Currently, it seems to behave same as "Turn On" setting.
Can anyone reproduce?

Unfortunately, Li-ion battery devices, like the Montana 7x0, require the device to be at least partially awake to properly charge the battery. So, yeah, not much difference.

Well, but what is then supposed the difference between both options?
Even, if I power on manually the Montana, put in my AMPS mount and turn Ignition on (AMPS is powered on with relais and Ignition plus), I don't see any difference between both options. In both variants, Montana stays in main menu and starts charging?

If you power on manually then put it in the powered cradle the logic would be that you wanted it on so it stays on and is also charging. Sounds right to me. I wouldn’t expect it to go into charge only mode.
If it is off and you apply power, it goes to the battery charging icon only. Because, you did not want it on, only want to charge it. Also sounds right.

Just tested further. This seems to be a problem with AMPS mount only. With a USB connected, it works as intended. I guess this a bug for the Common Issues list.

To clarify, you are using the hardwired AMPS mount, not the automotive usb powered mount, correct?

I need to do some additional testing and research.
I suspect the settings you reference apply only to external power via USB, not an external mount, which always powers the device on when inserted.

I just give a try with the Car USB AMPS mount. Indeed, same problem exists here. It only works directly via USB on device.
