so one can assume that Garmin broke something there. Tomorrow I will try what happens when you use the TopoActive on 4.40

Same here. Firmware v. 4.40 has uglified Garmin TopoActive Europe maps on my GPSMAP 65s (day and night mode)

actually you can now enter this problem under "common issues", or is there any news from Garmin when this problem was resolved? The contact with me was broken off and I was asked to rate how good the support was, I last sent the link for this topic.

Hello all, new user here.
I found this site as I was having similar problems. I mostly use OpenFietsMap and it looked awful with 4.40.
Thanks to the archive I have installed 4.00 and the mapping is useable again.

A 4.50 was loaded on me, and the map display has returned to normal.
