GPSMAP 65/65s Version 4.40 - Map Display Issues [Bug 18]

with firmware 4.40 my map Topo Switzerland PRO (year 2016) is no longer displayed correctly. The colors are no longer right, so the white areas are now light green, the houses also have strange hatching that they never had before. I contacted Garmin there, or do you think that if I buy the Topo Switzerland V2 PRO (year 2020). won't the problem be anymore? Or is that a Garmin trick to force people to use the preinstalled Topo Active Europe, I deleted it because it seemed less precise than the Topo Switzerland PRO.

You will need to open a case with Garmin support for this issue.

Please post screen captures so we can also submit them.

@Domi93CH I have observed the same with OpenMtbMap but not thought for relation to firmware update or spent my mind on figuring out the reason of change. I just wondered.

Here are a few impressions of the chaotic map, some of which are no longer usable

if any of you have a 4.00.gcd file, I would be happy about it. But I will probably get the new Topo Switzerland V2 PRO anyway

Was this a downloaded map or a micro SD card map?

Firmware 4.00 is available at GPSrChive > GPSMAP 65 > Firmware.

If you test same map again with v4.00, please post images for comparison, preferably in the same areas (for direct comparison).

Thank You.

I was able to restore the old 4.00 (or my unofficial 4.41) and the map is now displayed correctly again.

With the JNX Patcher you can bypass the inevitable loss of settings by simply changing the version number. And so you can also use your own custom "Birdseye Maps".
I don't really care whether this is allowed or not, but there is no other way unless you wait with a "crap-map" until Garmin changes something and creates a new version, and i dont want to setup the settings again.

have you ever tried to download the latest Openmtbmap? Maybe this will make the problem go away, how up-to-date is your openmtbmap? If you downloaded this in 2020 or earlier, I'll try the Topo Switzerland V2 PRO. According to Garmin, they have never seen such an error, so I would be very grateful to you and everyone else with such color problems to contact Garmin support so that they also notice that I am not the only one with this problem. I was told to try other cards. and otherwise Garmin assumes that my device is the source of the error.

If someone has a link to a free map that does the same thing with recent firmware update, please share so we can test ourselves.

Thank you!
