GPSMAP 65, 65s Firmware Update 4.50, released 18DEC21:

Changes made from version 4.40 to 4.50:

• Fixed issue displaying areas on some maps.

This update is being released in stages via Garmin Express, and should be available to everyone soon.

Garmin Express just upgraded my 65s to v4.4. Is 4.4 a stepping stone to v4.5, which will eventually come in a future Garmin Express download? Should I wait or do a v4.5 manual installation?

Replying to update my above comment above. Garmin Express led me to believe the update was to v4.4. If I check under “Tools and Content”, V4.60 is shown (as does the "About" screen of the device). So I guess am on v4.6

Please take a couple moments to help us out here.

Please send us a copy of the GarminDevice.xml file found in the \Garmin\ directory of your GPSMAP 65.

Please also navigate to the C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads\PrimaryFirmware\ directory on your PC, find the folder named PrimaryFirmware_PrimaryFirmware.006-B3725-00.4.60, drill down approximately six more levels into that folder until you find the GUPDATE.GCD file, and please send that file to us also.

There is no GUPDATE.GCD to be found anywhere in the C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads\Firmware directory tree (no "PrimaryFirmware" folder either).

The JaVaWa Device Manager is indicating v4.6 firmware. Why the Garmin Express landing page indicates v4.4 is a mystery. This platform does not allow xml file attachments, so you can grab that HERE.

Look for directories that have a date and timestamp that match when you installed the update!
