Just released, one of possibly more to come for Garmin legacy units that require 'GPS week rollover' updates.

Changes made from version 3.40 to 3.60:

• Fix incorrect time date issue caused by GPS week number roll-over on ST BRAVO3H

Anyone here still using one of these units?

Their useful lifespan has been extended substantially with this update!

I bricked the Etrex H with USB Serial Adapter and Windows 10 with Webupdater. It doesnt turn on anymore nothing! See german thread:

Where did you find the 3.60 firmware ?
I can only find 3.40

I cant get it to correct the EoW with 3.40
The GPS EoW tool sets the screen date to 2025, then it jumps back to 2004 when it gets a lock

De Garmin software update page for the eTrex H shows version 3.60. It also says to use Express, but that's not going to work. However, the web page contains a hidden link to the firmware file (view the source of the page). That link still works (click on red icon to reveal it):

now that leads to the next question..how to send / flash the run file over to the Etrex.


Have Mac, Win XP, 7, 10 or Peppermint Linux.
Vague knowledge of command line / terminal stuff if I am told what to type beyond sudo cd chmod and other basic commands

I just noticed your username, are you the creator of the Device Manager and GMTK, Map Combine apps etc?

Google search did the trick

Oregon 7x0 instruction but found an update tool that did the job

Flashed and updated to 3.60
Date now fixed after satellite lock..

Another old GPS saved from the trash...save the planet and all that.

Download Updater.exe from this page and drag the RGN file to the icon of Updater.exe
You will need Windows, but not the command line.

Yes, sorry //a few mixed replies above..yes I did it but got the Updater.exefrom another place .

All working now, 3.60 and Date correct
