Speed Sensor 2
I've started using my 65s on my cycle, I am looking at buying the Garmin Speed Sensor 2, is it worth it and will the speed be more accurate than the GPS speed the 65 shows?
GPSMAP 67, GPSMAP 65s (sold), GPSMAP 64s (sold), GPSMAP 62s, GPSMAP 60CSx, Edge 1040, Fenix 6x Pro (sold), Epix Gen2 Pro Sapphire 51mm.

Re: Speed Sensor 2
The answer to your question depends on multiple variables that can change for either sensor depending on where and when it is used.
If you program the wheel diameter precisely (we recommend mounting the sensor to the front wheel of the bicycle), this speed signal can be more accurate than the GPSr derived speed especially when used under any circumstances that inhibit satellite signal reception, such as a bike trail in a densely populated forest, etc...
