Mine has this file as well. Judging from the contents of the file (and GPSrChive > GPSMAP 67 > Operation > Files & Folders
) it looks like it is used to store the last known position. Not sure if it's continuously updated or only updated when the device is turned off.Does your 67 actually have a "Position.gpx" file in the main garmin folder? .Position.gpxAs pointed out on the GPSrChive > GPSMAP 67 > Operation > Files & Folders > Common Files page, this is the devices 'Last Known Position'. The GPSr compares this information against available ephemeris data to know which satellites to look for each time it is powered on. If the device has been powered off for an extended period of time or it has moved a large distance since the last power cycle, fresh ephemeris data will have to be loaded.
Yes I'm on windows, but the file shows up fine when I plug my 65s in.
