'.Position.gpx' File

Does anyone else with a 67 have a position.gpx file in the garmin folder like the older 65s does? My 67 doesn't?
GPSMAP 67, GPSMAP 65s (sold), GPSMAP 64s (sold), GPSMAP 62s, GPSMAP 60CSx, Edge 1040, Fenix 6x Pro (sold), Epix Gen2 Pro Sapphire 51mm.

Yes, there is such a file. By the way, what is it for?

Yes, there is such a file. By the way, what is it for?
Mine has this file as well. Judging from the contents of the file (and GPSrChive > GPSMAP 67 > Operation > Files & Folders ;) ) it looks like it is used to store the last known position. Not sure if it's continuously updated or only updated when the device is turned off.

Does your 67 actually have a "Position.gpx" file in the main garmin folder? My 67 doesn't.

The file is actually called

so it may not be visible for you because Windows by default hides files starting with a dot.

As pointed out on the GPSrChive > GPSMAP 67 > Operation > Files & Folders > Common Files page, this is the devices 'Last Known Position'. The GPSr compares this information against available ephemeris data to know which satellites to look for each time it is powered on. If the device has been powered off for an extended period of time or it has moved a large distance since the last power cycle, fresh ephemeris data will have to be loaded.

Yes I'm on windows, but the file shows up fine when I plug my 65s in. I just don't think my 67 has the file for some reason

I had kept the backup of my 65s and I have this .Position.gpx file, not on my 67.
GPSMAP66sr, GPSMAP67, GPSII+, Twonav Cross.
