Issue in FIT data when pausing and resuming activity recording [Bug 34]

New day, new GPSMAP 67 issue. Probably a bug but I'm also interested in whether this happens on other Garmin outdoor handhelds that use the FIT format.
The issue is that when you pause activity recording, and then later resume activity recording, the FIT file does not contain an event for this resumption (a timer event of type start). This can be verified by using a tool like fitfileviewer to inspect the data in a FIT file. For comparison, activities recorded by my Edge 1040 do contain start events for resumption of recording.
The effect is that when you upload this activity to Strava via the Connect integration that Strava will only consider the first part of the activity (before pausing), and ignore the rest of the activity. Maybe this happens on other services as well but I didn't test that.
I reported the issue to Garmin, so hoping for a fix in the (near) future.
