Inverted Map Orientation

Unread post by rob007 »

Has anyone else encountered the situation where the 65s displayed map is 180-degrees out of alignment when the unit held with the antenna pointed to the sky (i.e., the typical way one would hold the unit)? The "Map Orientation" is the default "Track Up".

So the "N" symbol of the display frequently points to the South. If, for example, I had a lake on my right, the map shows it on the left.

Given this behavior, I have been forced to carry the unit with antenna down so that what is in front of me is at the top of the map. It is almost like the unit was implementing "Track Down" map orientation, LOL.

I just updated to v4.4, and I have not tested to see if this behavior continues.

Have you calibrated the compass?

OK, I did the Compass Calibration (Setup/Heading) and now it seems like the display is behaving as expected, showing north in the correct direction and overall display orientation seems correct.

Thanks!
