Garmin has released TopoActive maps version 2025.10. Changes in this version:
- Fixes a known bug causing routing and course creation errors in Europe
- Improved road colors to better distinguish road classes
- Higher contrast colors for roads/trails to improve visibility
- Larger labels for major cities
- Major parks will drop from the map display when zoomed in (borders will remain)
- Updated popularity data
The maps can be installed via Garmin Express (preferred way imho) or via the on device Map Manager on the GPSMAP 67.
Interesting is that with these release the Garmin Cycle Maps (used on Edge cycling computers) have been discontinued and have been integrated into the TopoActive Maps. For more details see
here.

Hi.
I took the update on both a GPSMAP 67 st and etrex 32x (which both have Topo europe included).
After the update none of the units show the elevation if i click anywhere at the map (where topo active has coverage).
On the etrex 32x, when looking in the map menu, i have one map called Garmin DEM Map Europe, Central 2025.10. But none such for the other areas, and no such map on GPSMAP 67 st.
I assume his would hold elevation data, but only for countries in the map for central europe. I happen to be in what is the east europe.
Did anyone else see this issue?
The files that were updated and which are now on both of the unit are :
gmapdem.img - 251 174 912 bytes.
D9486050A.img - 2 897 805 312 bytes
D6185160A.img - 2 850 816 000 bytes
gmapprom1.img - 3 007 709 184 bytes
i cannot seem to find any separate file for the map: Garmin DEM Map Europe, Central 2025.10, but maybe it is inside one of the other files.
But most importantly, the rest of the elevation data seems to be gone...

It looks like not all map files have been installed? On my GPSMAP 67 there are six files for the whole Europe region:
D6184160A.img (2,868 MiB) - TopoActive Europe, East 2025.10
D6185160A.img (2,719 MiB) - TopoActive Europe, West 2025.10
D9486050A.img (2,764 MiB) - TopoActive Europe, Central 2025.10
gpmapdem4.img (708 MiB) - Garmin DEM Map Europe, East 2025.10
gmapdem7.img (283 MiB) - Garmin DEM Map Europe, West 2025.10
gmapdem8.img (240 MiB) - Garmin DEM Map Europe, Central 2025.10
Note that the some of the filenames may be different (esp. the gmapdem files) depending on what other maps are installed.
So it seems that the map update was not completed fully and two of the DEM maps are missing, which explains the missing elevation data. I'd just remove the IMG files from the device manually and reinstall with Garmin Express.
When I updated to 2025.10, the previous DEM file (version 2023.10, which was a single file for the whole of Europe) was not removed from the device, so I had to delete that manually.
And I noticed that the Map Manager on the GPSMAP 67 shows two of the three DEM maps as maps that can be enabled or disabled. Guess the software can't handle that the DEM maps are now three separate files instead of one single...

Thank you for the reply, the files were in fact on the computer. I simply copied them over to the unit. They are all now visible on the unit.

I have a GPSMAP 67 which I rarely use but always keep updated. Prior to the latest map update 2025.10, it was functioning well without any concerns. Part way through the latest map update via Garmin Express, an error message indicated a problem with the downloading. I stopped, disconnected and tried again. Unfortunately, the download was no longer available and syncing the device gave me a green sync okay and an up to date indication. Sadly I was left with only basemap in the device. I downloaded TopoActive U.S. 2025.10, T/A Middle America 2025.10 and T/A Canada and Alaska 2025.10 through Garmin Express Manage Maps feature. All maps downloaded without issue and are indicated as being on the device when I click on map details. They are, in fact, on the device but don't show when I highlight and enter TopoActive maps in Map Manager on the 67. Map Manager does show the space occupied by the maps, however. Would someone be able to send me a list of what maps are indicated in their 67's Map Manger since the 2025.10 update? I'm trying to get my 67 back to the way it was before the update. Thank you.

We were unable to do the map update on the device due to a known bug claiming insufficient space is available:
Garmin Express did eventually get all maps updated after an agonizingly long evening:

Garmin Express - Map Details v2.png
However, the GPSMAP 67 still indicates an update is available, when in fact the most current set of maps are installed on the device.
I do see an issue now where the same maps are now installed on BOTH the Internal Memory and Memory Card.

Map Manager showing an update while none is available indeed seems to be a bug, I’ve encountered this as well. The software apparently does not recognize the version of the maps being installed by Garmin Express.
