I have 3 Garmin GPS Units - GPSMap67, Montana 700 and a newly purchased Garmin Tread 2.
I have been loading the two handheld units with custom Waypoints from GPX files for many years.
The GPSMap67 and Montana 700 display the <cmt> (Comment) waypoints fields.
My Garmin Tread 2 Overland does not. Anyone else encounter this "lost feature"?

Did you load them with android. I lose comments unless I stick to explore. And backing up wp from explore lose their comments when restored

No I copying them directly to the SD Card into the /Garmin/GPX directory.
Same way I add them to my 2 Garmin Handheld devices.
I'm not using the Garmin Tread phone Apps (Android or IOS).

Update: Was informed by Garmin Support that the Tread devices do not support/display the <cmt> field.
I also found out that the Tread 2 does not support custom symbols/icons.
I also found out that there are many "built-in" symbols/icons that are not included in the Garmin Tread 2.
The Tread 2 only has 152 "built-in" symbols/icons.
Garmin Basecamp has 266 "built-in" symbols/icons.
My 2 handheld devices (GPSMap 67 and Montana 700) have 245 "built-in" symbols/icons.

I submitted ""ideas" to Garmin for displaying the comments (<cmt> field), allowing custom symbols/icons, and to add back "removed" "built-in" symbols/icons.
