Initial situation:
In Map: Map Setup -> Hike Settings -> Map Dashboards -> Custom
... When Navigating -> Small Data Fields
... When Not Navigating -> Geocache

Return to Map. [Menu] -> Chang Data Field -> (Select a data Field) -> (Select a Data field categorty): BUG: Display changes back to Map where now the Geocache-Dahbord is show. Data field is NOT changed.

Firmware: 3.04

Couldn't reproduce your scenario, but what I did see is that when you have the dashboard enabled, and you move the cursor on the map and then press quit, the dashboard disappears. It is shown again when you go to the main menu and then return to the map, your when you pan the map and then click the icon to recenter the map view on your current location.

I was able to reproduce. Thank You!

Bug still exist with software version 7.07 (device: H1, Display sw v16.06, GPS sw v8.01).
Can not change small data fields when using Custom dashboard .
