Data recording (Hike profile)

Hi @All,
I noticed the following issue during a long hike ...
I have the folowing settings on my H1.
Setting: Hike profile
Data Recording settings (the same with my GPSmap 66sr);
- Record Method: Every Second
- Auto Start: Off
- Auto Save: On
- Output Format: FIT and GPX
- Trip Recording: Always
I noticed that my GPSmap H1 for unknown reasons, stopped recording and showed me a message if I want to start recording again, because I stopped with hiking (moving) for a while. Which in itself is correct beacuse I was taking a break.
However, according to my above settings my 'break' should not have any influence on the recording settings; Recording = Always and Auto Start = Off).
In other words, I want my H1 keep on recoding no matter what I do during the Hike.
The 'Auto Start = On' option will solve this problem but this also means that my Trip Odometer and other hike activity info keeps on running, even if I stop the Hike Activity.
When stopping the Hike Activity on my GPSmap 66sr everything stops, as it should ...
Regards,
RWvdK

How have you set Auto Pause (it's under the activity specific recording settings)? I assume you manually start your activity recording, because you have set Auto Start to Off?
What setting do you have for Auto Save, it can be Auto, Daily, Weekly or Never, but not On.
And the Trip Recording setting influences how the trip related data fields show data. If Trip Recording is set to Always, the trip related data fields will always change value independent of whether you are recording an activity or not. If Trip Recording is set to During Activity the trip related data fields will only change value when an activity recording is in progress. So this setting should not influence when an activity recording is started or paused.

Hi JJ,
Yes, I always start manually Activity recording...
Auto Pause = Off
Auto Save = Auto
I'll set the Trip Recording option to 'During Activity' ...

In that case it is strange that the H1 stopped activity recording, because if Auto Pause is Off then recording should continue regardless whether you are stopped or not.
Auto Save is not really relevant for this case because according to documentation it will save an automatically activity if there hasn't been any point recorded for four days.
How do you carry the H1? Could it have been an accidental key or touch screen press that paused the recording?

Hi JJ,
Exactly, it is strange that's why I mention it in this group and mailed this issue also to Garmin.
During a Hike I always turn off the Touch Screen option and only use the buttons ...
I use the Backpack Tether V2 for my GPSmap H1, so nothing has pressed the buttons ...

There is bug 27 that allows the touch screen to remain active, even when the device is locked.
Would be pretty easy for activity controls to be manipulated unintentionally.
