There is no changelog supplied by Garmin at this time

My update did NOT show up on Garmin Express as of 11/18/2025 (I tried numerous times). It did however show up on the Garmin Explore app (running on an iPad mini 6) but it did not transfer over with that app. Running Garmin Connect on the iPad finally transferred it over (verified by connecting the Touch 2 to the PC and finding GUPDATE.GSP in the Garmin folder) where it was installed on the next power-cycle.

eTrex Touch (Gen 2) firmware info (from Settings>System>About)

Software v5.09
Host Software v5.09
Connect IQ v6.0.0
GPS Software v6.04
Wireless Software v29.16
Display Software v3.11 (this differs from the H1 H1i Plus units)

Four apps have also been added to the App Menu:
Calendar, Alarm Clock, Man Overboard and Proximity Alarms

Initial observations (will add if/when more are observed):

1. The major roads color scheme has been darkened (on the current TopoActive 2025.10 maps) to a dark charcoal/black color. (screenshot #1) I don't know that I like this. It could've been changed to make these roads more visible due to TopoActive maps now being the default maps on Garmin cycling units (Garmin Cycle maps have been discontinued). This affects ONLY the TopoActive maps and no others (Garmin Topo US 24k & OpenMapChest US maps are unaffected)
1a. While the major roads have changed to a darker color, the major freeways are now a lighter grey (screenshot #2 405 fwy & 133 toll road). This make these major freeways obscured in all the grey)

2. The map centering icon (when you have panned the map) has been changed. It seems less visible to me and smaller. (screenshot #1: 1/4 way down on the left side)

3. Overall, the unit seems to be snappier when pages are swiped and the map is scrolled (this could however be a placebo effect)

In reply to myself for observation 1:

The darkened roads are the effect of the "High Contrast" setting now under "Map Layers". Toggling this ON has this effect. Previously, the setting did nothing.

4. Map Manager map toggles have been removed and moved to Map Layers where they now seemingly toggle correctly (as per my limited testing).

5. New Toggles under Map Layers: Courses & High Contrast (maybe Activity Line?). Courses takes you to a list of courses on the unit with a view toggle for each course available on the unit as well as the ability to change the course color (tap on the color to the left of the course). All of the toggles now have improved Previews and seeming do what they are intended to do.

6. Satellite signal strength bars (both in a glance as well as the main satellite map view) seem to have been darkened using a darker shade of blue. They are much more visible than before.

7. The Calendar app seems to be very slow & laggy. It can take 2-3 seconds for it to respond to tapping on a day...even just launching it and minimizing it with a left to right swipe, one can see how laggy it is.
