Map Panning issue [Bug 48]

I have just bought. Garmin H1 I. When using the map feature, I can move the cursor away from my position but it does not update the distance or bearing to the new cursor position from my current position like my 67i does. When the cursor is placed on to a map feature such as a road or river etc. it updates then but not if it is on nothing specific. I have just done the latest software update. I am going to use the unit for hunting and remote off track walking and this feature is very handy to have. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Also, while 'latest software update' seems obvious today, it will not be clear to future readers after multiple additional firmware updates have been released.
