I have still installed and 100% working:

Apps: komoot, Wikiloc, routeCourse, GRouteLoader
Widgets: GPXsend, Notes

Recently, I have updated them with Garmin Express.
I send my [Oregon 7x0]:\Garmin\Apps\ directory (zipped with 7-Zip) to the email mentioned in the previous post.

I have sent GarminDevice.xml

GRouteLoader works well with gexporter on Android for transfering GPX files (routes, tracks, waypoints) via Bluetooth.
GPXsend does not need any external application (just web browser), but it requires internet connection to be active on phone.
komoot is also good for syncing GPX tracks.

I bought a used Oregon 700 because of the connect IQ function, just to learn that it was killed by Garmin.

Great. Connect IQ apps still work and can be updated with Garmin Connect (Bluetooth) or Garmin Express (USB cable)

GRouteLoader includes functionality of gimporter and more, so it can substitute it.

Generally Oregon 700 is still useful in 2026, especially with proper bike/motorcycle mounts (like RAM mounts).

The only issue with this device is relatively poor battery life. Worse than almost every other Garmin AA-powered device, not to mention about Garmins with integrated batteries.
