GPSMAP 65s TOPO Canada
I recently purchased a 65s to replace my old eTrex legand. I have old TOPO Canada cd's and they are installed in Basecamp. I would like to install them on the 65s but when I do they don't show up. I read where the old cd versions won't work with the 65s. Is this true? Is there a work around?

When loading maps via BaseCamp, it should open MapInstall to complete the process.
Is this how you were loading them to the 65s?
Trying to recall directly from fuzzy memory here, but I think I remember that the maps are transferred to the device, but sometimes placed in the wrong folder / directory.
Check your 65s and make sure all *.img files are in the Gamin directory. If not, move them there and retest!

That is how I was loading. Other maps I loaded that way work. I think it might have something to do with licensing even though I bought them from Gaarmin and loaded on other gps's. I contacted Garmin but since the cd's are old, they coulen't give me an answer.GPSrChive wrote: Tue Jul 21, 2026 2:30 pm When loading maps via BaseCamp, it should open MapInstall to complete the process.

BaseCamp should show you the licenses for all maps with restrictions.
When you use the map in BaseCamp, does it give the pop up message on the top of the screen informing you the map has restrictions?
