tried to load several times today,
nothing!
renamed and loaded as instructed, no update and gps booted
went to folder garmin via PC update file gone
tried 4 times
is it me or the update file?

I have tried several times to load this update
Have done it before with 3.33
Load the update as instructed
Device boots up, no update
Check unit files, update file is gone

This is an update on my updating!

I went to the Garmin beta site and downloaded direct from there.

Interesting thing. No need to rename the new file once unzipped and there is a 3.33 roll bank gcd there ready.
Also
I loaded The file and rebooted but the normal update screen did not appear
Failed again I thought but
Went to "About" and it is version 3.35
Very odd

Based on your posts, it sounds like the first time actually installed the 3.35 beta and each subsequent attempt simply deleted the gupdate.gcd as you were already at 3.35.

Initially, Garmin mistakenly had the beta update page without any download link, instead directing users to use Garmin Express, which never actually installs beta releases. Glad they got that sorted out!

Thanks. It is very strange
I am absolutly sure that it didn't go through the normal update cycle where it shows a message on the opening screen followed by the blue line crossing , then a reboot.
Anyway will test it all this week

3.35 is not a good beta. In the Geocache environment had several freezes and crashes.
Did send those remarks to the Garmin beta team.

Had one crash, trouble is I am 6000 miles from home with no pc. All GC LOADED up for 3 weeks in south africa

Given up with 3.35 and reverted to 3.30 although 3.33 was ok
Shame I had to reset all my settings
Froze several times when trying to hit GO, when selecting a GC to route to
Then it crashes.
Repeated several times then was ok again
Had the ghost type image on crashing as if the power has gone and it was running on empty

Have reported it

I REPORTED the problems and have just had this reply

"Thank you for your report. It in fact assisted us in discovering what the issue was that lead to these lock-up concerns. We did release public software 3.40 today. Please load this software and let us know if you observe any additional concerns.

I cannot however find a link to the new version
Any suggestions please?
