Map freezes after marking waypoint

Hello,
Sometimes, but not always, my 66st map page freezes (zoom in/out doesn't work anymore), after I mark a waypoint. The waypoint also doesn't show up on the map in those instances.
However, turning the unit off and then on again shows the new waypoint, and everything works again.
GPS Software version 2.2, Software version 3.4.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Edit: apparently, this only happen if I am looking at the map while pressing mark and save. If I mark the waypoint while looking at any other page, the waypoint gets recorded just fine.

Unable to reproduce, yet.
As stated, it is intermittent. If it happens again, try to remember ambient conditions, dashboards displayed, maps enabled, etc. etc.

I went out for a walk at noon, and it happened again, after I marked and saved a waypoint while having the map page active.
Map page is set up without dashboard (default), maps are 100k topo us and canada, and worldmap (also default).
No sd card.
Correction: GPS software is 2.5, not 2.2 as wrongly indicated in the original post. Software is 3.4.

Edit: This could be happening after a waypoint got deleted, and the numbering scheme starts up again. Need to investigate more.

Seems to be random. Maybe other users will notice this behavior as well at some point in time. Of course, Garmin is not aware of this.
By the way, zooming in results in blurry detail (no vectoring anymore).
Zooming out results in a blank map.
Everything is fine again after a power off/on cycle, so the waypoint does get recorded.
I just save my waypoints on any other screen (just not the map screen).
