If you can see the device in Explorer when connected to your computer, but no files are present, something has gone very wrong. Does the GPSr function properly when disconnected?

The files you ask for are written by the GPSr every time it boots. You do not need to add them.

Leave the BIN files alone.

Clearly, you can see some files on the device... How about a screen shot of the directories and files?

Also try deleting the GarminDevice.xml file. Occasionally these can get corrupted. By deleting it you force the device to write a new one.

"GPS works OK but no files are visible when connecting to multiple computers" - Very strange, I suspect some RAM corruption. May have to 'call' Garmin and see what they can tell you.

Another option: Downgrade the Firmware (Create a Garmin directory and place an older firmware GCD file inside, then reboot - see Firmware page), and see if file structure is renewed after. Then update to current firmware again after.

Hi...I am having comparable issue with same gps and garmin associate. it associates with garmin interface yet goes into a circle and neglects to transfer. I have had a go at everything above. additionally no outcome. for a pointless answer from garmin to do all that I had just done.

So you have 'lost' all files from your Montana 6x0 also?
