GPSMAP 66s firmware 4.20, gps firmware 2.80

1. Open any recorded activity or saved track
2. Select the Map Tab (i.e. the middle tab)
3. The map is nearly always shown centered on the current (or last known) location instead of showing the track/activity zoomed to fit the display
4. Press D-PAD (Left) or (Right) to select the Information Tab or Elevation Profile Tab
5. Press D-PAD (Left) or (Right) to go back to the Map Tab
6. The map (usually, but not always!) shows the track/activity zoomed to fit the display (the correct behavior)
7. Repeating steps 4 and 5 will occasionally result in the incorrect map display described in step 3

i can confirm this behaviour. it did not annoy me enough to write about it, but it happens just like described.
GPSMAP 66s firmware 4.20, 4.10 both have/had the same.
gps firmware 2.80, 2.70 used at the times.

Thank for confirming.

You also confirmed my suspicion that the bug was introduced in firmware 4.10. I don't remember seeing the issue in previous versions.

We are currently unable to duplicate this behavior, have tested with more than a dozen tracks, all opened correctly the first time.

Can you both please report back after the next firmware update and let us know if you are still seeing this behavior?

With software 4.70 it seems to have been corrected. I have tested a bit and not yet found any case in which the issue shows.
