Troubleshooting

• The screen does not respond. How do I reset the device?
  • Remove batteries.
  • Reinstall batteries.
  • Allow the Rino 75x to cool if hot to the touch.

• How do I reset all settings back to factory defaults?
  • Setup > Reset > Reset All Settings.

• How do I Master Reset my Rino 75x?
  • With the Rino 75x powered off, press and hold the call button and cycle the power button.
  • The Rino 75x will begin the boot process.
  • When prompted "Erase all user data?", release the call button.
  • Select [Erase].

• My Rino 75x is not acquiring satellite signals
  • Power your Rino 75x On.
  • Configure Setup > System > Satellite > Satellite System = GPS.
  • Place the GPSr outside, in clear view of the sky, away from any obstructions, for several minutes.
  • If no improvement >30 minutes, from the Satellite page, select Menu > Use With GPS Off > Use With GPS On > AutoLocate Position.
  • Place the GPSr outside, in clear view of the sky, away from any obstructions, for several minutes.
  • If no improvement >30 minutes, perform Master Reset (above) and repeat.

• My Rino 755/755t will not charge
  • Ensure the Li-ion battery pack is properly installed.
  • Reduce backlight brightness.
  • Ensure temperature is between 32ºF and 122ºF (0ºC - 50ºC).

• My Rino 75x battery gauge is not accurate
  • Leave the device powered on until the battery is completely discharged.
  • Charge the battery fully without interruption.
  • Ensure Setup > System > Battery Type is set correctly.

• The battery does not last very long
  • See Maximizing Battery Life.

• How can I be sure my Rino 75x is in USB Mass Storage Mode?
  • See Mass Storage Mode.

• My Rino 75x is connected to a computer, but will not enter Mass Storage Mode
  • See Forced Mass Storage Mode.

• I do not see any new removable drives in my list of drives
  • Windows may be having trouble assigning a drive letter.
  • Select My Computer > Manage > Disk Management to assign drive letters.
  • Read this post.

• Why does my computer not recognize my Rino 75x?
  • Make sure you have the latest Garmin drivers installed.
  • Enter Forced Mass Storage Mode.
  • When prompted by the Found New Hardware Wizard, select "No not at this time" followed by "Install USB drivers automatically".
  • Once the driver installation is complete, select "Finish".
  • The computer should now recognize the Rino 75x and installed microSD card as external storage drives.

• My Rino 75x is not reading data from the microSD card.
  • Confirm the microSD card meets supported specifications.
  • Verify the microSD card is installed securely and correctly.
  • Ensure microSD card is formatted FAT32 (not exFAT).
  • Try using a different microSD card.

• My PC frequently displays "USB Device not recognized" when I connect my GPSr.
  • Try this solution.
  
  

• While trying to load GCLive data, my Rino 75x perpetually displays a spinning wheel on the screen and no data is loaded.
  • Verify your Rino 75x has a functional Bluetooth internet connection.
  • Check Setup > Geocaching > Geocaching Live to verify the unit is registered with a valid groundspeak account.
  • Select Setup > Geocaching > Geocaching Live > Unregister to unregister the device.
  • Select Setup > Geocaching > Register Device and complete registration with desired groundspeak account.

• My Rino 75x will not communicate with older Rino 1x0 and 5x0 models.
  • Verify your Rino 75x Squelch Tone mode is not set to DSC (Digital Coded Squelch).
  • Previous generation Rino 1x0 and 5x0 models do not support DSC.
  • Configure your Rino 75x Squelch Tone mode to CTCSS (Continuous Tone Controlled Squelch System).
  • Your Rino 75x should now be able to communicate with the older Rino models.

Hidden Test Pages

• Hardware/Software ID and Display Test:
  • Remove micro SD card if present
  • Enter the Satellite application
  • Press and hold the upper left corner of the screen > 5 seconds
  • A diagnostic screen will appear displaying hardware and software information
  • Selecting the → button will cycle you to the next diagnostic screen
  • If the → button is not visible, touch the screen or press the power button to cycle to the next test
  • After the final test, the Rino 75x will loop back to the original diagnostic screen
  • Press and hold the lower left corner of the second diagnostic screen (with the [Start] button in the center) to exit the diagnostic mode
  • Press and hold the power button to reboot the device and reset diagnostic mode test results

• Error Logs:
  • Enter the Trip Computer application
  • Press and hold the lower right corner of the screen (over the Menu Bar) > 5 seconds
  • A diagnostic screen will appear displaying a list of recently logged exceptions
  • The lower section of the page will display current memory usage and stats
  • Select an exception from the list to view register dumps for that exception
  • Use the back arrow to return to the list of exceptions and to exit this diagnostic mode

• While Simulating a Route:
  • Enter the Compass application
  • Press the 12 o'clock position to increase travel speed
  • Press the 6 o'clock position to reduce travel speed
  • Press the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions to change route direction
