Troubleshooting
- Reset the Device
- If the device stops responding, you
may need to reset it.
- Soft Reset (this does not erase any of your data or
settings):
- Press and Hold the
+
buttons until the device turns off.
- Press and Hold the
button to restart the device.
- Factory Reset (erases all
user data and restores settings to factory defaults)
- Press and Hold the
+
+
buttons.
- The device should power into Firmware Update
Mode.
- Only while the device is in Firmware Update
Mode, Press and Hold the SOS button for >5 seconds.
- Once the Status LED starts flashing
Green > Red, release the SOS button.
- Press and Hold the
button to power off the device.
- Once powered off, Press and Release the
button to restart the device.
- If the device stops responding during
an inReach Sync session:
- Bootloader Mode:
- Close inReach Sync.
- Press and Hold the

buttons.
- Restart inReach Sync.
- Firmware Update Mode:
- Close inReach Sync.
- Press and Hold the
+
+
buttons.
- Restart inReach Sync.
- Restoring All Default Settings (Master
Reset)
- You can restore all device settings to
the factory default values.
- Select Settings
> Recovery Options > Restore Factory Settings.
- Viewing Device Information
- You can view the IMEI number, firmware
version, regulatory information, license agreement, and other device
information.
- Select Settings >
