Garmin extends Outdoor Maps+ coverage to additional countries

Subscription-based mapping collection provides even more adventurers around the world with comprehensive Garmin outdoor recreation maps



OLATHE, Kan./April 17, 2024 – Garmin (NYSE: GRMN) today announced an expansion of its premium mapping solution, Outdoor Maps+, to now offer TOPO Pro mapping content for European countries, in addition to all 50 U.S. states and Canada. Through a single, annual purchase, users can access globally available maps, including roads and trails, points of interest, contour lines and more on their compatible Garmin device1.

Outdoor Maps+ supplements the mapping preloaded on select Garmin smartwatches and GPS handhelds with additional features, including:
  • Satellite Imagery: See a high-resolution perspective from above with photorealistic maps that download directly to compatible devices, available worldwide.

  • Night Lights: Find the best locations away from light pollution for stargazing, camping or just getting away, available worldwide.

  • HD Relief Shading: Utilize improved mapping detail with shading that helps visually depict elevation changes and terrain features in all 50 U.S. states and many European countries.

  • 2D Buildings: Specific to European countries, view a map layer with an area footprint of buildings, which can be toggled on or off at the user’s discretion.

Outdoor Maps+ subscriptions are currently available for download for an annual price of $49.99. Products compatible with Outdoor Maps+ include the GPSMAP 67 series, Montana 700 and Alpha 300 series GPS handhelds and fēnix 7 and epix series smartwatches.
