Problem USB connection with PC
Up until two weeks ago I could connect my Garmin GPSMAP 67 to my computer with the USB cable and exchange data. Now when I connect it automatically go to the latest project that I was working on. I uninstalled Garmin Express and reinstalled it and tried a number of other things without any luck. Any ideas?

Only you know what this means.cshaugh wrote: Sat Oct 21, 2023 10:32 am Now when I connect it automatically go to the latest project that I was working on.
Please be more specific and more detailed about what happens with the GPSr when connected to the computer, and what you see on the computer once the GPSMAP 67 is in MTP mode?

Re: Problem USB connection with PC
After reinstalling Garmin Express I cannot add my Garmin GPSMAP 67. When the GPS is attached to the computer it turns on and goes directly to the map screen. In the past it would as permission and then show it was connected. On the computer it does not show up in File Explorer. I cannot add it as a devise to the computer as it does not show up when doing searches. After a while the GPS gives a message "trouble finding satellites", I think that is due to being inside the house. Dismissing this does not help. Let me know if anything else is needed.
thanks Chuck

It is very possible that the USB cable you are using is a 'Power Only' cable and does but support data transfer. Try another cable.

Are you using the original Garmin cable that came with the device or the original Garmin USB C data/charge cable ?
GPSMAP 67, GPSMAP 65s (sold), GPSMAP 64s (sold), GPSMAP 62s, GPSMAP 60CSx, Edge 1040, Fenix 6x Pro (sold), Epix Gen2 Pro Sapphire 51mm.

I am using the cable that came with the garmin 67 and it has worked in the past. I also tried other usb ports and no luck. I also tried downloading uploading files with that port and was successful. My computer's software/operating system is updated. I do use Norton as an antivirus. I just don't know what the problem is?

Get in touch with Garmin support chat, expain the situation and they'll send a new cable out free of charge.. They're really good when something's wrong. They have sent me stuff for free before when there's been an issue.cshaugh wrote: Sun Oct 22, 2023 3:17 pm I am using the cable that came with the garmin 67 and it has worked in the past. Re: Problem USB connection with PC
I would remove the USB drive and reinstall the latest from Garmin.
See link below:

You do not need to use Garmin Express to see if you can access your 67.
When you plug in your 67 it should automagically give you access to it and you can use your file explorer to see your files.
It should show on the screen of the 67 "Garmin" and the USB symbol.
If not then the problem is with the PC and or your cable.
Also do not use a USB hub.
Connect directly to the PC

Re: Problem USB connection with PC
Have you checked the USB Mode settings are set to MTP and not Garmin? Menu/setup/system/USB Mode. Sounds like you are not in MTP mode.
Current: GPSmap 67i; Edge 520; GPSmap 62; InReach mini Mk 1. Previous: GPSmap 66s.
