Course Points duplicated on map

Ok, so I was able to reinstall the firmware after Garmin provided a procedure to force the reinstall of the software. It's quite simple, luckily: copy the GUPDATE.GSP file to the Garmin folder of the internal storage, copy an empty file called force.tmp to the same directory, and power on the GPSMAP. It will prompt that new software has been found and a choice to install or not. I believe this method is also used on the smartwatches.

Maybe this method even allows downgrading to an earlier software version? I didn't dare try

Did you create the force.tmp file or did they send it? If they sent it, please send a copy to:

They did send me the force.tmp file attached to the email with instructions. But since it’s an empty file (0 bytes) I just created it myself. I’m on macOS btw, and used Commander One to access the files on the GPSMAP (as Finder does not support MTP devices).

The duplicate course point issue still occurs with a full and correct installation of 8.90.
