You may need to continue holding the Page and Enter buttons until the reset message is displayed.

You don't press page and enter until the words come up under the garmin sign.GPSrChive wrote: Sun Dec 15, 2024 11:16 pm You may need to continue holding the Page and Enter buttons until the reset message is displayed.
Holding them on then pressing power results in infinite boot loops until you let go of page and enter.

We only have four GPSMAP 67 to test (two 67, two 67i), and on all four of those, holding the PAGE and ENTER buttons while powering on the device results in the master reset dialog being displayed. Pressing those buttons after the boot sequence has started just results in a normal startup.

Are those units all on firmware 8.90? I tried the master reset procedure with my GPSMAP 67 on 8.90, and the device continuously reboots when holding Page + Enter on power on. Same with holding Enter to get to the test menu, this doesn't work and the device reboots after displaying the Garmin logo.GPSrChive wrote: Mon Dec 16, 2024 1:27 pm We only have four GPSMAP 67 to test (two 67, two 67i), and on all four of those, holding the PAGE and ENTER buttons while powering on the device results in the master reset dialog being displayed. Doesn't behave like mine, perhaps they have older hardware, like @junglejim mine just boot loops until you let go. It has to to be just as the text appears under the garmin logo.JungleJim wrote: Mon Dec 16, 2024 4:14 pmAre those units all on firmware 8.90? @JungleJim, one of each at 8.90, have to check the others to see which version they are still on.
Edit to confirm one each at 8.90, and others tested with multiple previous firmware versions, always function as expected.

Interesting to see the results. On previous firmware updates the key presses on power on worked perfectly fine.GPSrChive wrote: Mon Dec 16, 2024 4:37 pm @JungleJim, one of each at 8.90, have to check the others to see which version they are still on.

1.Press and hold the Page and Enter buttons simultaneously
1.While holding the buttons, turn on the device NOTE: (Immediately after the device turns on, release the Power button)
3.Release the buttons (Page and Enter) when you see the message "Delete all user data?"
4.Select Yes

The procedure is clear to all I think.Przekątny wrote: Mon Dec 16, 2024 5:13 pm Reset Procedure:

The point is that this does not appear to work with firmware version 8.90. At least not on my device and Offpiste’s device.

I might add its been behaving itself since I master reset it and reformatted the sd card. Still the map teleport glitch but that's the firmware. So far s good.
Also I got to choose where the maps were installed with garmin express so I've configured it differently with only keeping all of Europe on the device and the rest on the card.
Also managed to put my data back with base basecamp. Huzzah!
