'tempe' temperature sensor discontinued?

Unread post by ljnjtrails »

I was thinking about a Garmin "tempe" temperature sensor today, when I was on a hike with my GPSMAP 66sr and the temperature went from 28 degrees F to over 50 degrees F. But Garmin's web site shows it as discontinued, and the link from the GPSrChive Store to amazon now opens a page with no products and just "how can we help?" So it looks like the product is gone, with no replacement. Does anyone have any more information?

Yeah, it does look like Garmin quietly discontinued the tempe sensor. A few folks mentioned it's getting harder to find even through third-party sellers. I haven’t seen any official word from Garmin about a replacement either. For now, your best bet might be checking local outdoor shops or second-hand marketplaces — sometimes they pop up there.
