New GNSS chipset (SYN4778)

Unread post by JungleJim »

Found an interesting tidbit about the GNSS chipset used in the Fenix 8 line of watches. Where they have been using the Airoha AG3335M series of chipsets (not only for Fenix / Epix but also for GPSMAP 67), Garmin now have switched to the SYN4778 multi-band GNSS chipset.

No idea whether this chipset will find its way in other new Garmin devices, but I found it interesting enough to share here.
