Garmin published eTrex SE Firmware version 4.22.0 on June, 2025:

FW update seems to take longer time (few minutes), don't worry if eTrex SE screen shows 90% complete bar for long time.

FW is very new, post here if you notice bugs or improvements.

I reported the "navigation ends too early" problem to Garmin Support after 4.20 was released in December 2023. The support staff were able to duplicate the problem and stated the engineers would have a fix in early 2024. Well, better late than never. Thankfully, the problem appears to have been fixed.

167 km distance limit bug persists in the newest eTrex SE FW 4.22. Also, device needs to be turned-on/off to reset "distance" calc (otherwise after saving activity with >167 km, next activity is capped at 0 km distance), same as with previous FW.
