Montana 700i taking a long time to load routes

I’ve sent a number of routes from Basecamp to the Montana, between 100-200 miles long.

Before either navigating (where to>routes>select route) or viewing the route in route planner the device calculates the routes

This calculation is taking about 5 minutes.

These are all road routes, created on the same version of City Navigator

Also, the device calculates the routes again each time it’s either navigated or viewed.

is the routing activity as expected? (can that be set in basemap?, if yes, check if it is the one desired).
if you expect car routing but accidentally use walking or cycling activity then the unit will use smaller roads or trails hence typically have a larger network to calculate on, which will take much longer.

If you use prompted activity it may be that it uses the last used activity, in that case, take a point near where you are, route to that one using the intended activity, then stop navigation and try your route again.

It’s a pre planned route, created in Basecamp with motorcycling as the activity.
Motorcycling is the activity in the Montana too.

The route is correct, following the roads I intended, it just takes ages to load

Check the route calculation by setting the "Calculation Method" to "Prompt", after selecting the route and pressing "Go" a list of all activity types will appear on the screen, you will be able to check the calculation for each activity, regardless of which route was created in Base Camp.
