BaseCamp redesign is absolutely necessary now

Unread post by Denis54740 »

I just upgraded to the GPSMAP H1 with OUTDOOR MAPS+.
How can I use my maps on a PC? The USB connection is outdated, and loading maps from the GPS is too slow.
How do I apply map overlays? They aren't available or supported by BaseCamp.
A PC version of Garmin Explore would be ideal.

Ironically, there is a web version, you could you use of Garmin Explore. But it lacks most of the features, which their App provides.
But I cannot agree, that USB is outdated. It really depends on the usage.

Base Camp doesn't have the option to display two maps simultaneously; this option is only available on the device, so displaying the main map and the overlay map in Base Camp is impossible.

It is possible to combine the detailed map and the overlay map to create a single mapset, but this is not applicable to the maps mentioned above.

Regarding the map loading time, it is long during the first connection; subsequent connections with the same mapset should be faster.
