Is it true that the Proximity Alarm page was left out?

Currently there is no proximity alarm functionality beyond geocache warnings.

If a GPI-file with pre-compiled point of interests are loaded and that contains proximity alarms, such as for speed cameras, will the alarm trigger when approaching the point?
specification says such files are supported, but did anyone observe if the proximity from those files works?

Have not tested GPI files yet, but have no reason to think they do not work.

FYI, while there are currently no 'Proximity' settings available on the GPSMAP H1/H1i Plus, strangely, our H1 is notifying us about waypoints with proximity warnings loaded in the microSD\Garmin\GPX directory.

Hopefully, additional Proximity functionality will be added soon!

Only somewhat related to the proximity alarms, but I found it interesting to share:

It seems that when you copy a GPX file with waypoints to the GARMIN\GPX folder, the waypoints are shown on the map but not in the Saved Data app (nor under Find > Saved > Waypoints).

But if you copy the GPX file with waypoints to the GARMIN\NewFiles folder, the waypoints get added to Saved Data correctly. I seem to remember that this didn't work in firmware 3.04 so maybe Garmin fixed this but didn't mention it in the release notes.

I will not have my carefully curated GPX data mutilated into FIT format, thank you!
