I bought a 64GB SD Card For My New H1
My formatted it And preloaded third-party maps and some pocket queries before inserting it in the device.
The maps worked well as did the PQ
However
When I came to connect the device to my Win11 PC via a cable ,There was a problem
The PC recognised the SD card and saw the files that had been loaded on it, but I could not transfer any new files to that card.
Attempting the file transfer, the normal Windows file transfer pop-up was seen, there was about a 10% movement in the blue progress bar then it stopped. It hung there for 30 seconds on the transfer window closed.
I tried the same process on another 64GB SD Card I had – same result
I bought a new 32GB Card went through the same processes and all was well. The PC would transfer files to the plugged in.H1
So it would seem that file transfer to SD cards larger than 32GB Does not work.
My UK dealer is equally perplexed and was going to report it to Garmin with whom they have a good relationship
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

We just tested with a Sandisk 512MB microSD card and were still stuck on the power on boot sequence after more than 30 minutes....

The GPSmap H1 seems to be very picky about SDcard type and models.
My 'SanDisk High Endurance Micro SD 100MB/s, 265 Gb.' works fine on my H1; moving or copying files is no problem. Also installing a Garmin Outdoor MAPS+ on the SD card works fine.
However, the Sandisk SD card Ultra 256 Gb. was not recognised at all, but works fine in my Garmin Camper 895 Camper unit ...
For formatiing these cards, I use Rufus formatting software, freeware ...

For formatting SD cards it's recommended to use SD Memory Card Formatter for Windows/Mac. That tool will format SD/SDHC/SDXC/SDUC cards in such a way that it complies with the SD File System standards.
So it could be worth it to check out whether the issue still occurs after formatting the card with the SD Memory Card Formatter.

Does the H1 support ExFAT? The "SD Memory Card Formatter" does not offer to choose the desired format, it will use ExFAT for SD cards larger than 32 GB.

That's why I Use Rufus (freeware) or Diskgenius (they have also a freeware version); they will give you all kind of format options ...
