CPE update tool

Unread post by Wojtas81 »

Similarly to previous tools for EPO, I have created tools to simplify acquiring CPE.BIN from Garmin servers.
They are applicable only for Broadcom based receivers (ie. GPSMAP 65/65s and GPSMAP 66sr).

One for Windows and one for Linux/Unix OSes. Both are free and open-source, both can be redistributed and easily modified with any Notepad application (if necessary).

Available here

They can be put on Garmin GPSr and launched from it when it is connected to the PC in Mass Storage mode. They automatically find and update CPE.BIN in proper path (ie. Garmin\GPS).

Tip: CPEupdate folder doesn't have to be in [GPSr]\Garmin\GPS\ folder. It can be in [GPSr]\Garmin\ or even just in [GPSr]\
As long as it is on same drive/device as CPE.BIN it doesn't matter. Same as EPOupdate.

Just double click on getCPE.cmd in Windows or right click and Execute, Run from Konsole, etc. getCPE.sh in Linux/Unix.
Correct CPE.BIN file will be updated in correct path.
