Installing Connect IQ apps no longer possible
New versions of Garmin Connect do not support installing connect IQ apps directly. They redirects to Connect IQ Store app but that app does not support Oregon 7x0.
It is still possible to update apps already installed in Oregon via Garmin Express, but it is no longer possible to install any new ones.
Installing older versions of Garmin Connect app is also not solution, because they no longer work at all (ie. trying to install connect IQ apps with them gives an error).

Have you tried downloading the app from garmin connect on your phone and then opening garmin express on your computer and installing the app the same way as before the garmin connect change?
This worked for me a few weeks ago on another garmin gps.

Re: Installing Connect IQ apps no longer possible
That is not possible. You cannot install new apps with Connect anymore, you need Connect IQ for that. Connect IQ doesn't offer to download some files, you have to select a device where Connect IQ will send the files to. Since Connect IQ doesn't show the Oregon, it simply ends there...lost wrote: Wed Feb 25, 2026 6:11 pm Have you tried downloading the app from garmin connect on your phone and then opening garmin express on your computer and installing the app the same way as before the garmin connect change?
Can you describe the needed steps how to do that exactly?

Garmin Connect on my phone opens web browser to open Connect IQ store.lost wrote: Wed Feb 25, 2026 6:11 pmHave you tried downloading the app from garmin connect on your phone
And on that store I have the message: To install this app, go to the Connect IQ app on your mobile device.
Then I open Connect IQ app and I see no Oregon there (ie. unsupported device).
The only solution I see is to install connect IQ apps on another, supported device (eg. GPSMAP 66), and then copy downloaded apps to Oregon with file manager on Windows or MacOS.
Not sure however if it will work or not.

Don't have an Oregon 700 myself anymore, but I was wondering whether the instructions at Installing and Viewing Connect IQ Content on the Oregon 700 Series work? Or are these outdated?

It is like using old manuals for iPhone 3GS, BlackBerry 9900 or Android 2.3 and expecting that everything will work just because it worked in the past.
Manufacturers usually don't care about discontinued products, as they no longer make money on them.

No longer valid for Oregon 7x0 or Rino 75x, and probably more...JungleJim wrote: Sat Feb 28, 2026 8:09 pm Don't have an Oregon 700 myself anymore, but I was wondering whether the instructions at Installing and Viewing Connect IQ Content on the Oregon 700 Series work? Or are these outdated?

The Express route is not valid anymore for all devices. Using de Connect IQ app on your smartphone is the only way to install Connect IQ apps/fields/watch faces.

Hi! It's great idea! If only it would work, one can use Edge/Garmin watch as well. It needs confirmation.Wojtas81 wrote: Fri Feb 27, 2026 10:36 pm The only solution I see is to install connect IQ apps on another, supported device (eg.
