“Review Text Size” option…does it actually do anything?

Unread post by WallyGator »

This is regarding the eTrex Touch 2 but also likely applies to the H1 series…
Under Settings>System>Accessibility>Review Text Size: Normal or Big.
Setting this to Big (default is Normal), I see absolutely no difference in text size anywhere on the unit.

Is this a “dead” option/setting? I’m at the point where my aging eyes could use some help by displaying larger text but I can’t see that this option does anything at all.

Apparently, it’s supposed to make text larger but where exactly, I can’t tell.

How about on the H1? Does it have any functionality there?

Replying to myself…I found out that this setting only (as far as I could find) affects the text on the Settings>System>About page where the software version, unit ID, etc is displayed. Kind of pointless in my opinion…and to have an actual setting for it? Hmmm…thanks for that, Garmin!

As far as I can tell when set to Big, the text that is shown when you preview a saved item (course, waypoint, activity) is displayed larger. So for example when you review a course, the labels and values for distance, number of points etc are displayed in larger font.
