GPSMAP H1/H1i Plus Firmware 11.07

Garmin has released firmware 11.07 for the GPSMAP H1/H1i Plus, on July 15 2026.

• Added deletion of inactive SOS threads
• Added option for prompted reset data after saving activity
• Added specified messenger thread glance
• Fixed CityNavigator maps sometimes not staying enabled after power cycle
• Fixed inability to download satellite imagery without OM+
• Fixed issue with removing geocaching live data
• Fixed issue with selecting "No" when trying to Forget Phone
• Fixed issue with the map dashboard disappearing
• Fixed issues when using HuntView products
• Fixed possible crash when many maps are installed
• Fixed possible issue when displaying the layer name for sideloaded maps with long names
• Fixed possible issue when using Expedition Mode
• Fixed possible issue with Altimeter data when navigating
• Fixed possible issue with starting navigation if you switched pages before it finished calculating
• Fixed possible issues when transferring waypoints from basecamp to device
• Fixed possible issues with Basecamp unable to read device data
• Fixed TopoActive map downloads getting requeued after completion
• Updated the waypoint review page behavior when moving and existing waypoint

This update is being released in stages via Garmin Express and OTA, and should be available to everyone soon.

I have Map dashboard set to 'Small data fields' on my Hike activity and I have noticed that whenever a new firmware version is installed this setting gets rchanged back to 'None'. This is not specific to v11.07 but has happened with each and every firmware update!

I was hiking & geocaching some days with 11.07 and encountered following issues on my device:

1) I wanted to load Geocaches around me using "Live Geocaching", but even I had data connection over my smartphone (iPhone) and no error or further message appeared, close geocaches where not loaded/displayed. (the appeared on the smartphone app).
I then selected "Delete Live Geocachig data". Then something very strange happended: The device almost froze: I could press a button or press as key, but then for > 30 sec. nothing happens, sometime half of one screen (ex. Map) and the half of the selected Menu/Screen (ex. Altitude) where displayed for ca. 50..50 sec before the screen displayed what I selected- This over multiple minutes. Then I restarted the H1 mutliple times until the handling/reaction time was as before and caches where loaded again using "Live Geocaching"

3) I selected a track to follow. I'm Interested on the elevation profile of the upcoming route. Here the coming profile was "invisible", but the cursor followed the invisible profile. After scrolling at some point the (blue) elevation profile of the coming route appeared. Here the two pictures:

The GPSMAP H1 and the eTrex Touch 2 are still so ripe with issues, even a year after introduction, that I still cannot recommend them!

They are just getting riper with every update...kinda like that bunch of bananas on the counter (at least my counter).
